Conditional Banners on the Appointment Time Step in Schedule

Overview

Conditional banners let you show a short, informational message on the appointment time step of Schedule, based on how a patient answered a Pre-Booking Validation (PBV) question on Step 1.

Use them to give patients helpful context at the moment it matters. For example, you can tell a new patient to expect a short intake, or tell patients where to call if they can't find an appointment.

Availability

  • Available to all Health Systems customers using Schedule with Pre-Booking Validation.
  • Banners are set up by Kyruus Support. See "How to request a banner" below.

How it works

  1. A patient answers a PBV question on Step 1, such as "Is this your first visit?"
  2. If you've set up a banner for the answer they chose, it appears at the top of Step 2 (appointment time).
  3. If no banner is set up for that answer, nothing appears.
  4. If the patient goes back and changes their answer, the banner updates or disappears to match.

What to know

  • Banners never block booking. Patients can always continue, whatever the banner says.
  • Nothing shows unless a message has been set up for that exact question and answer.
  • If a patient's answers trigger more than one banner, all of them appear together in one box, in the order the questions were asked.
  • Banners work with Single Choice Button questions, including conditional PBV questions that only appear after a patient selects an appointment purpose.
  • Banners are not available for clinical search or date-of-birth questions, because those answers are free-form and can't be tied to a specific message.

What your message can include

  • Plain text, including a clickable phone number.
  • The provider's name, state, or the practice's phone number, inserted automatically.

Examples

  • Question: "Is this your first visit?"
    Answer: "Yes"
Banner: "Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time so we can complete a short intake."
  • Question: "Have you seen [provider name] before?"
    Answer: "No"
Banner: "If you cannot find an appt within the next 14 days, please contact [provider name] at [practice phone number]."

  1. Your organization name
  2. The PBV question, worded exactly as patients see it
