Multiple Choice Questions in Pre-Booking Validation

Overview

Pre-Booking Validation (PBV) questions are the short questions patients answer on the first step of scheduling, before they choose a time. Custom PBV questions used to be limited to Yes or No answers. With multiple choice questions, you can write your own list of answers and let patients pick the one that applies.

Use multiple choice when a question has more than two possible answers. For example, “Who is this appointment for?” with the answers “Myself,” “My child,” and “Someone else.”

Existing Yes/No questions are unchanged and work exactly as they did before.

How multiple choice questions appear to patients

How a question appears depends on how many answers it has:

Number of answersWhat patients see
1 to 4Radio buttons, with each answer shown as an option
5 or moreA dropdown list
